About the 12th Annual Love Run 5K

This race runs through Decatur, tied to Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month and organized by the DeKalb County District Attorney's office. Proceeds go to a local organization working to end domestic violence, so the crowd tends to be people who care about the cause as much as the course. It also qualifies you for the Peachtree Road Race.

Packet pickup happens the day before at Big Peach Running Co. in Decatur, with race-morning pickup available as well. Registered runners get a discount on regular-priced items at Big Peach, which is a decent excuse to browse while you are there.

Common Questions About the 12th Annual Love Run 5K

Will I finish last at the 12th Annual Love Run 5K?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.1 Miles field finished slower than 43:28, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:08:38, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the 12th Annual Love Run 5K a good first 3.1 Miles?

A field of 406 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the 12th Annual Love Run 5K?

The 3.1 Miles winner ran 16:38 while the median finisher took 43:28. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
