About the 11 Miles to Paradise

The course runs point-to-point through Lolo National Forest, following rolling single-track trail beside the Clark Fork River. It is a true trail run, not a road race with a dirt shoulder: the footing is rooty and natural, the forest is close, and the river stays nearby for most of the route.

After finishing, runners are bused to Quinn's Hot Springs Resort, where there is food, drinks, and access to the hot pools. Dogs are not permitted on the course, on the shuttles, or at the resort, so leave them home.

Common Questions About the 11 Miles to Paradise

Will I finish last at the 11 Miles to Paradise?

Almost certainly not. Half the 10.5 Miles field finished slower than 2:04:17, and the last recorded finisher came in around 3:28:52, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the 11 Miles to Paradise a good first 10.5 Miles?

A field of 623 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 10.5 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the 11 Miles to Paradise?

The 10.5 Miles winner ran 1:06:34 while the median finisher took 2:04:17. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
