About the 10,000 Meter on Van Meter
The course rolls out from a soccer complex on Van Meter Road and heads back the same way it came, so you see the same scenery twice and know exactly where you are on the return. The surface is asphalt throughout, and the hills are real but manageable. Cash prizes go to the top finishers in both distances, so the front of the pack tends to be competitive.
Packet pickup the evening before takes place at a Rally for Recovery event in a park in Winchester, which doubles as the race's pre-event gathering. On race morning, parking is in the main lot at the soccer complex. There is fruit, snacks, and coffee at the finish.
